Kenzo is a Japanese fashion house established by designer Kenzo Takada in 1970. He was among the first male students at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo and relocated to Paris in 1964. In 1970, he opened his first boutique in Paris, named Jungle Jap. Kenzo is recognized for introducing Japanese fashion to a global audience, with his distinctive designs blending traditional Japanese aesthetics, elements of nature, and multicultural influences.

The Kenzo Parfums division was introduced in 1987, although the first Kenzo perfume, King Kong, released in 1978, indicates the designer's interest in fragrances prior to the division's establishment. Kenzo Parfums' inaugural official fragrance was Kenzo for Women, launched in 1988, which was later renamed ça sent beau, meaning "it smells nice." Since then, the brand has released a range of successful fragrances for both men and women, including its flagship scent, the innovative Flower by Kenzo.

In 1993, Kenzo Parfums became part of the multinational luxury goods conglomerate LVMH. Kenzo Takada retired from the company in 1999 but has since returned as a designer for home decor and furnishings.
